Abhijit Chakraborty is a dedicated educator, entrepreneur, author, and filmmaker based in Kolkata, West Bengal. He is widely recognized as a spoken English teacher and an instructor of various computer courses. At the young age of 19, in 2001, Abhijit established Brajadham Computer Tutorial Centre (BCTC), an institute specializing in computer training. In 2005, he expanded BCTC's scope by introducing a Spoken English course, aiming to empower Bengali-medium students to excel in English communication. In 2018, Abhijit ventured into filmmaking, creating a short Bengali psycho-horror film titled Dhappa. He showcased his multifaceted talent by writing the script, composing the music, editing, and directing the film. Additionally, he contributed as an assistant director and editor for two other Bengali short films. The same year marked the beginning of his writing career with the release of his debut English short story, The Dreadful Day, available on Amazon Kindle. This debut was followed by several other stories, many of which have won accolades in various writing competitions. In 2020, Abhijit self-published his first solo book, BCTC One Dozen English Short Stories, further establishing his reputation as an author. His next solo book, Love Has Expiry Date, was published in 2025 by Ukiyoto Publishing. Some of Abhijit's stories have also been released in audio format in collaboration with BuCAudio Pedia Pvt. Ltd., broadening their accessibility and appeal to a wider audience. Abhijit is passionate about bridging the linguistic gap for Bengali-medium students, helping them master spoken English, and continues to work tirelessly toward this mission. He lives in Kolkata with his parents, his wife Dipa, their son Mriganka, and his aunt. He balances his family responsibilities with his passion for teaching, writing, and filmmaking, leaving an indelible mark in each field he pursues.
